Dear unstablers,
There have been quite a few changes in zFTPServer (for details please see changelog list below). Could you please try these features out?
2009-10-16 * : Major GUI adjustments for server configuration
2009-10-20 + : Added TFTP support
2009-10-22 * : Startup information now shows activated services and details on why some services could not be activated
2009-10-30 + : It is now possible to specify individual services that an account should have access to (FTP / FTPS / SFTP / TFTP)
Best regards,
Nicklas |

I will keep my eyes open during busy time on the server, Nicklas.
So far, I love the changes. Especially to the GUI. Also glad to see you addressed the admin crash problems as those were happening nearly every time I changed or added a user.
Keep up the good work! |

I tested a TFTP download and zFTPServer keeps the source file locked, even after hours. Possibly can be caused by cancelled/aborted transfer attempts.
Couldn't there be a feature that closes file handles after some time? Even closing them after an hour is better than never. _________________ Rank: Bughunter |

I keep the server "closed" to connections because I don't want people connecting during certain times, at all.
However... every now and then I see people not authorized to connect, attempting to connect to the server (they are not let in, obviously) and they are rightly ignore because they are not in the approved IP reserve list. When these people are trying to connect over and over, somehow, some way, the server becomes open to connections again.
Security hole somewhere?
1) Server is "closed"
2) Someone tries to connect, but cannot
3) Server is suddenly open to connections again
This happens DAILY. |

I looked through the source code and found out that the offline state was not fully restored upon restarting the server (during for instance an automatic update)...
- This has now been fixed in the latest unstable version.
Please update and check if the problem persists for you. |
