Right the upgrade process is as follows.
Backup Accounts folder and the Settings INI file. These files holds all config for the FTP server. (Always back up before an upgrade)
Upgrade the Server to the latest build using the latest EXE and bobs your uncle its upgraded,
Use the backups if you have a problem with the install. |

Yes that's the procedure for the free version. The licensed version has auto-update. _________________ Rank: Bughunter |

You do not need to "upgrade" to get a licensed version...
- Simply install the license and the corresponding features will be enabled. |

Sorry i am now really confused. Ok i am on a free version of ZFTP. Build specified above. We have purchased a license key from yourselfs and when i get a window will install this. but to do this i need to install to the latest build ??? As the license key needs to placed in the following locations
zFTPServer\extensions"
zFTPServer Administration\extensions"
Now the old version doesnt have these directories. So my thinking is backup accounts and settings.ini incase things go wrong. Install the latest version of the product. Import the license key into the folders created by the installation of the new version of Zftp Server.
Also From what i can gather the license key activates both server and administrator console. But how many administrator consoles can you activate with this key ??? As multiple people will need to administer the FTP server.
Does this make more sense ? |

Ok, here's what you should do:
1) Backup the entire server folder (accounts and settings should be preserved, but since you have a really old version I do not remember if the backwards compability works that far )
2) Download and install the latest version from the webpage (using the same paths as you have your old version)
3) Start both programs and activate the license using the built-in "License manager" |

| Well i have upgraded successfully and imported the the Corporate license. Now the Question i have is how many machines can i install the Administration console on ??? I am sure I read that it can only be used on one other machine. Is this correct ??? If so why has this been done that way ??? As in a corporate environment multiple support people would be maintaining this server. |

| The license is per server installation, thus you may use the license for multiple instances of the admin program. |
